The Designated Areas for foreign ownership of real estate are determined by the Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai by way decrees and regulations issued from time to time (“Designated Areas”). Below is a list of the most important Designated Areas:

- Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR)
- Discovery Gardens
- Arabian Ranches
- Midriff (specified plots)
- Dubai Investment Park (DIP)
- Falcon City
- Dubai Sports City
- Dubai Motor City
- Dubai South
- International City
- Jumeirah Islands & Jumeirah Village
“The decision grants non-UAE nationals the rights to absolute ownership, without a specific time frame, of lands and properties located in land plots number (205), (206) and (207) in the Dubai World Central area (521),” according to the Dubai Media Office.
